Crystal River
Located along the western coast of Florida, Crystal River is a quaint, picturesque fishing town that has steadily grown into one of the busiest areas of Citrus County. With its abundant and beautiful waterfront property, easy access to the Gulf of Mexico, numerous recreational options, and great nearby dining and attractions, Crystal River is quickly being discovered as one of the nicest areas in the state. Swimmers, boaters, and fishermen can all appreciate these sparkling waters and the variety of wildlife that live in and around them. It is not uncommon to see the county’s most famous seasonal resident, the manatee, as it surfaces for air or rolls playfully through the water. The rivers find their way into the Gulf of Mexico and provide easy access to the open waters for boaters. Saltwater fishing in the gulf is excellent and exciting. |

For those preferring to keep both feet on dry land, there are plenty of other recreational opportunities. Golf is one of the biggest industries in the county and there are a number of fine, world-class courses within minutes of Crystal River. The Plantation Golf Resort is one of the best courses around. With an 18-hole championship course that will test golfers of every skill level, the Plantation also offers a 9-hole short course for polishing those intermediate shots. |

Crystal River’s historic downtown district is a charming area full of antique shops, specialty stores, old fashioned and gourmet cafes, and more. Crystal River also has a mall for plenty of shopping opportunities. Dining in Crystal River is never mundane. From fresh seafood to steak, Chinese to Italian, barbecue to Mexican, casual to fine dining, if you can think of it, you can most likely find it in the Crystal River area.
